Yoga for Teens - 60hr Yoga Teacher Training

68% of young people in Ireland reported feeling stressed “often” or “always”

58% of teens experienced significant reductions in anxiety and depression after a yoga program.”

What makes teaching teens different to teaching adults?

  • Often different motivations (for teens it might be part of their school schedule, football club, their mam sent them etc whereas adults usually decide fully by themselves)

  • Different developmental stage

  • Different needs

  • SHORT attention spans

All of these mean you need to adapt your approach

How does yoga support teens?

Teenagers struggle with so many things from exam stress to sports injuries to self-esteem issues, and while yoga is not a magical cure it sure can support teens with all of the various struggles they are facing.

  • Mindfulness - Support teens with stress, anxiety and self-esteem

  • Emotional regulation - yoga supports teens regulate their emotions. This is particularly important as teens face many new experiences & challenges which can cause an emotional rollercoaster.

  • Physical - Supports students build mobility to support prevent injuries and to support students to move. They spend hours at desks, come home and spend some more hours sitting to study and then relax by sitting on their phone, which is a whole lot of sitting. So incorporating yoga and movement into their lives will bring mental and physical benefits.

  • Tools - Giving the teens tools they use in their daily lives. Tools to support them not only at peak exam stress but in the build up to relieve stress as it comes.
