Why teach chair yoga?

You can reach a whole new audience – you can serve people who previously would bot be able to access the yoga world and enjoy its benefits.

The gift of Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is such a gift to me and my family. Watching my dad age and lose his mobility and therefore his ability to care for himself was heartbreaking. My dad has a form of alzeihmers and chair yoga has supported him with his mobility and his cognition. He can still make his cup of tea because of chair yoga.
That is the gift you are giving families by offering chait yoga. It is truly magical!

 Is one day enough?

Yes! We build on the anatomy and yoga knowledge you already have (which is why a foundation yoga teacher training or similar is required). We support you to understand the differences and get creative with how you can support your students with chair yoga. You will leave fully equipped to teach chair yoga.

Why Aruna?

We pride ourselves on being a centre for excellence for training. Our trainer, Nessa Fehan is amazing. She has a clear training style and oodles of experience. She teaches 10 chair yoga classes a week! and has been a yoga teacher for 10 years. We provide a physical set of notes for you to mark up during the training, and in my biased opinion our studio is gorgeous (which is a plus). We have over 100 happy graduates from our Chair Yoga Teacher Training who are sharing their love of yoga with a wider audience!

What will I learn?

  • getting clear who your student is - what their properties are, what their mobility limitations are

  • understanding the common reasons people choose chair yoga

  • knowing the difference between Yoga and Yoga Therapy (This is Yoga Teacher Training, not Yoga therapy)

  • inclusive & trauma-sensitive approach to sharing yoga

  • yoga on a chair

  • yoga with a chair

You will be fully equipped and confident to teach chair yoga afterwards!
